Hi Spencer, another convert to shelf life baits. Last year a lot of my fishing was in France. Some trips were over 2 weeks and its a struggle to keep freezer baits fresh for that long especially if the weather is damp and air drying isn't an option. I've always used frozen baits but Shaun persuaded me to try his shelflife baits (he uses them) and I've never gone back to frozen. I can't see any deterioration in my catch rates in fact my French fishing has been some of my most productive ever.

Cheers Ron

Really pleased to have you on board Spencer and nice to see you pointing out that not all of us are able to fish or even bait up exactly when we want.

I am still in the situation of having to fish when I can rather than when it looks right. I have thought about this quite a lot recently and I think this is why I have remained to keen in my carp fishing. Even after over 30 years of fishing for our beloved carp I am as keen to-day as I ever was.

I'm sure had I taken the full time route and tried to live off of my writing and sponsors then the fishing wouldn't mean the same to me as it does now.

In fact I am looking out of my office window as I write this. I blanked during a short session yesterday afternoon (again a little reality there - I couldn't get the time to fish for more than 3 hours). I saw where the fish were as I had to leave and I'm sure if I could get back to-day I would probably get some action. But, alas - work beckons and I doubt I'll be able to wet a line again until Saturday.

The real world. Frustrating at times but it does help to make you appreciate the times you get on the bank.

Best fishes
