LIVER B8 - passes the ultimate bait test with flying colours!

31lbs PB commonIf I were to ask you to come up with the ‘ultimate’ test for a new bait - like Shaun’s B8 - what would it look like? Maybe you would that on one rod alongside your other baits and compare your captures? Maybe you could compare your results with other anglers using other brands of on the lakes you ? Maybe you could it on a lake that had never seen that particular and see what your catch rate was like. All well and good but what about the ultimate test? (more…)

Another Angle

I must say that James Harrison’s ‘A Different Angle’ article in last month’s Carpworld was one of the most original, contumacious pieces of no-nonsense -related pieces of literature I have ever read! A sweeping statement perhaps, but nonetheless, very true. I find when I read -related articles there are often one or two points which start to fire around in my head. The old grey matter starts to wobble and bits from some long-forgotten memory suddenly come back through to the present. I used to be so envious of Jim Gibbinson with his Carpworld column ‘Let Us Talk’. (more…)

That’s not quite as simple a question to answer as a lot of people might think, and it certainly isn’t straight forward.

Firstly it depends on the itself, as each manufacturer seems to make up their own sizes and they vary immensely. Unfortunately there isn’t a national standard to work from. For example a 6 Korda long is dimensionally a much bigger than say a super specialist of the same . (more…)

Product Review: Glug, Dip, Pop-Up, Hookbait Combination Set

Quest tube combination setA nifty idea from the Baits boys. A clear plastic containing four separate pots which can be used for carrying glugs, dips or an assortment of different baits.
The problem with most of the glug pots I’ve used in the past is that they are prone to leaking. This is usually caused by getting a drop of liquid in the threads of the screw cap - it then manages to work its way around the thread channels and out of the lid. By placing the tubs in an outer you stop all of that irritating spillage contaminating everything else in your kit. (more…)
