I know it should go without saying but please be very careful whilst we have these frozen conditions.
We should all be well aware of the dangers of frozen lakes PLEASE don’t ever try to walk on one regardless of whether the ice in the edge appears to withstand your weight.
Yesterday two wildfowlers – Paul Lichfield and Paul Surridge drowned whilst trying to rescue their dog which had gone through the ice. One of them got into trouble and his friend went to help. It was the last thing they ever did.
Please don’t be tempted, it is definitely not worth it. My condolences go out to their families at this incredibly sad time.
