Hi Sam

It's been a few years now since fished on Horseshoe and I have to say it really has got some beautiful Carp in there. I actually caught my surface caught pb from there too. There is a lovely little viewing hole just round from the lagoon swim that more often than not holds a few resident carp.

I must admit I far preferred fishing Winter bay than Summer bay myself. For whatever reason I just felt more at home there.

A good point made by Keith about just fishing through the near edge of a weedbed to camo up your rig. I would also fish slack lines with a flourocarbon such as Xline to ensure everything is as flat to the bottom as possible.

All that said when the fish are on the munch in there and you are fishing over a large bed of boilies then I am not so sure it makes that much difference, the takes tend to come anyway.

Good luck on your next trip I am sure you will catch plenty. My advice is to fish on there Bonfire weekend and pick a peg that views Lechlade, you wont be disapointed I promise.

I have just had a fantastic week there myself with a couple of those stunning fish on the bank, its a fantastic venue.

As for camming your rigs you could try fishing around and in the low lying weed in there, much of it is next to the clear areas and the weed will help you in disguising your rigs in the clear water with a little PVA its easy to get a good presentation and they are often better for getting takes from than the clear spots. Its worth ensuring that you use a good lead clip set up to fish like this though I have been recently using the Nash weed clips as the lead has come away on every take that I have had on there and the colour suits the situation well in Horseshoe.

Enjoy your next trip
