Hi Jamie, I know Tim is a consultant with a number of companies now, which could be the reason he is not trading. I understand his products are now marketed by Wychwood, they do a range of neutral Ph bags

Hi Ron

I am not certain if Temple products are still trading.

The guy who owns the company is Tim Wagner and he is good friends with Mark Hutchinson. I think they still sell their products at Walkers of Trowell if ever you are passing.

The thing that struck me about the product was that a lot of research had gone into ensuring that the ph level of the bag was as close to neutral as possible. If you buy some of the cheaper stuff (sometimes not cheaper) you can smell the gluey aroma. This gives me no confidence as there will be residue in the area of the hookbait.
Maybe I am just a bit paranoid but I don't like the idea of that.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies guys. Solid PVA bagging is not my favourite way of fishing(way too fiddly) and as Elie says a bit of a problem when its raining. I'm going to persevere with the boilie paste for a while and see how it goes. I'm not sure if the paste breaks up completely on impact but at least its in the same area as the hookbait.

I've used The Fishing Bag for a while Elie and I agree they have some quality products. I buy a lot of my rig bits from them, great value for money. I've used some of their thicker(80 micron) PVA bags for fishing deep water. Its good to have confidence that the bag has not split on impact and will actually reach the bottom intact.

Cheers Ron

Hi Guys

I use a PVA bag method the same as Simon does, with a short braid hooklink insode a small bag - the PVA bag coming to a filled weight of 4oz with a 2.5 or 3oz lead inside it. The problem comes if it's raining then PVA bags are a real problem for obvious reasons!

If you are looking for hevay duty bags that will withstand the cast then have a look at these, they do varying thicknesses and sizes. Quality stuff.

If you spray a very fine layer of water over the PVA bag from a atomiser type bottle the PVA really tightens and shrinks. Obviously you need to be careful not to over do this though.

Oily pellets help too but not really what you want this time of the year.

Hi Simon

I prefer the Temple Products PVA too. The bags seem much stronger than others I have used. I also find that micro pellets are perfect for this type of fishing. I haven't tried it with the microfeed yet but againthis is ideal.
I too have had most success using small 10mm hi vis pop ups with this method.

I tried the paste wrapped around the grippa lead this weekend and managed to cast around 130+ with some awful cross winds. Unfortunately the fish were not cooperating so I'll try again next week

Hi Ron i use Temple products P.v.a. the same bags Mark use its just the right amount of bait you can use a 3oz lead down inside the bag and the run the hoooklink down to the lead then back up like a u shape inside the bag then slowy fill with quest pellets and two or three small 10mm baits the weight comes up just over 4oz and flys very well small pop-pops seem to work best in the bags

I cant see a method mix holding up at that range -- but you never no
hmm you could freeze the mix at home around the lead -- food for thought

All the best
