<description>Superb piece Pat and the advice about up-stream legering is spot on. In the days when I used to spend a lot of time carp fishing the river Trent it was always far easier to hold the bottom fishing upstream and of course any debris floating down in the current came back up the line to the rod rather than straight down to the rig and making the end tackle location obvious to the fish as well as possibly masking the point and bait.

You mention the suit being around £190 but this is small comparison to what everyone seems willing to pay out for a sleeping bag and bivvy combination which is only doing a similar job - keeping you comfortable. Nice thing with proper clothing you don&#039;t have to break it down and pack it away to move swims!

Spot on advice too about the breathable gear worn underneath. Every single item of clothing you put on its&#039;s essential to think about. Put one layer of not breathable material or just as bad cotton (it absorbs sweat which then makes you feel cold) and you have wasted a lot of money not allowing the outer garments to work how they were intended. With Fleeces and the like becoming cheaper and cheaper these days - we have never had it so good.

Best fishes
