The Rod Hutchinson Enduro is the ultimate 2 person bivvy, I am 6ft tall and I can stand up in the inner compartment, there is room for three bedchairs in the bedroom inner tent, and there is a huge porch area where two people can sit and cook, loads of room for storing your gear, three doors on the porch so that whichever way the wind is blowing you can still have a door open, and there is a door at the rear that can be opened when it is hot, so that your bivvy does not become an oven. No longer made, but look out for one on ebay - I paid £40 for mine !

Thanks Elie/Jamie
Some good feedback with solutions to my problem. You've both given me more info than I can find elsewhere on the net.

Hi Phil

I suppose it's down to personal preference and cost to a degree. As it would be a bivvy that may only be used once or twice a year, then buying an expensive bivvy may not be a reasonable option. If money isn't an issue then I have to say that the Venture tackle Cassien 2 man bivvy is awesome. I took a good look at one set up at the BCAC semi a few weeks ago. They are well built and rock solid.
I personally have an old Rod Hutchinson apothesis, which has a built in ground sheet that keeps out all the critters too. It's more than high enough for a short arse like me and is pretty sturdy. I don't know if they are still available or if they are similar to what you use now. Mine cost me just over £100 about 10 years ago.

I have to say though that the bivvy Elie mentions sounds like a right bargain at around £200.

Cheers
