Bryan asks;

Hi Shaun, Having looked at the video vault on the Quest Baits website and the section on self take photography, I have had no luck in sourcing the bracket and the adaptor that fits to the upright.

Can you please give me a clue as to where I can buy such an item to allow me to also use self take photography without using a self timer?

Hi Bryan, Since we filmed that clip I have now found an even better bracket. It works the same way as the one I was using but has more adjustment and simply locks up more secure. I used to have the original one slip off the shutter release at times especially when taking several pictures. This now seems to be a problem of the past.

Hi Bryan, the SRB Griturn bracket gets my vote as well. Its the third bracket I’ve bought and the best by far. There nothing worse than setting up the shot, fish in your arms and then finding that the bracket has slipped or flexed and you cannot take a picture. This bracket eliminates all of that.

Hi All,
Just a quick tip. If you can leave the bulb release connected to the bracket at all times (i now put mine together assembled in a hard case). The reason i say this is because the thread is so fine where you screw the shutter release into the bracket, that if you keep on unscrewing and then re-assembling you will find that after a while the thread will strip. This happened to mine after about 18 months so i had to buy a new set.

Hi Pat – I have suffered this in the past but forgot to mention it. If you are leaving it assembled why not glue the thread in to save it shaking loose?

Hi Shaun,
I have superglued the thread and since had no problems. I mentioned the case has not only did i strip the thread after continued use but i also managed to split the plastic bush on the shutter release. Putting the assembly in a protective case gives the whole assembly more protection and doesn’t really take up that much more room in my bag.
