When you open a bag of Chilli Chocolate the first thing that hits you is the powerful chocolate aroma… but the clever thing about it is the subtle chilli & pepper taste. It surprises many people to learn that carp adore a spicy flavor.  It’s true that the fruity sweet flavours do well too… who can doubt the effectiveness of Fruity trifle… but baits like Rahja spice prove without doubt that they have a like for the spices too!

My first sessions proved conclusively the effectiveness of the Chilli Chocolate.  I also received the combination hooker to me bait set.  It comprises  pots of 15 & 10mm glugged hook baits & pop-ups.  Extremely practical!

See you soon at the waters edge!

Well, as I sit and write this at home we are going through a very hot spell with high pressure and ‘Non carpy’ conditions, but do you know what? I love it!

For whatever reason, in these conditions I always seem to manage to pull off a result of some sort and whilst a 22lb common is far from my biggest carp, the circumstances surrounding it make it a good capture to me personally and that is what it’s all about!

I’d started the season well, landing the second biggest common in the lake at 35 lb 15 oz on the first day of the season followed by an upper double common the following day. The following week was a blank, however this week the Carp Gods were on my side again and the Chilli Chocolate produced a result. continue reading…

35. 15

Just a quick bit of news…  after a month of baiting with the Chilli Chocolate on the first day of our season I bagged the second biggest common in the lake at 35lb 15 oz result!!

I have been very short of free time so far this year and being the type of person who simply ‘HAS TO FISH’ I have had to content myself with very short sessions of just 2 hours or less.  These past couple of weeks I have been rewarded with several carp for my efforts and having just taken a few days off for my birthday I actually managed to squeeze in a full afternoon session!

After fishing a swim for a couple of hours and spotting fish showing elsewhere I quickly moved and soon found myself bent into what felt like a real good fish on my soft rods and small reels I like to use whilst fishing the local venues.

After an incredible fight I eventually found myself peering into the mesh at a gorgeous looking common. The scales read 33lb and the bait it couldn’t refuse was the new Chilli Chocolate boilie which has produced all of my fish so far this year.

What better birthday present could a fishing starved man ask for?

Whilst we are waiting for the accompanying pellet for the newly launched Chilli Chocolate boilies, it ocurred to me that I need something to give a little ‘boost’ to my hook bait and I generally like to have something mirroring  my free offerings as closely as possible. With the aid of a Korda Krusha, about 30 15mm Chilli Chocolate shelf life baits and approx 20ml of the Chilli Chocolate glug, you can easily make a lovely little mix thats ideal for a small PVA parcel.

Back behind the rods at last!

Finally after a break of nearly three months, Ive managed to get back out angling, my first chance since becoming a Quest baits consultant. Only a day session, but  a session nonetheless!   continue reading…
