Reader’s Query - can you recommend a proper 2 person Bivvy?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Initial reply By Elie Godsi

Phil Parker put the following question about ‘proper’ size 2 man bivvies that will accommodate him and his wife - plus all the gear we typically carry with us.

“On the subject of Bivvys, why do manufacturers make them so low. I’m not the tallest of people but I am finding it difficult to do any kind of adequate manoeuvring unless I’m sitting or laying down especially if the heavens open up. My two man bivvy is exactly not that, more of a one and a half, especially as I have to share with my wife. The only one I have seen is more of a tent than a bivvy and that is the Hutchinson geo 2.2 super tent. This seems to have masses of room, especially for storage. Can anyone recommend on the market which has a substantial height and capacity for storing the plethora of gear I carry including a wife?”

On the 20th July Neil put this question to the bloggers:
Hi im going on my first trip to les telliats at end of september what
bait would you recomend i take and what size?

Well Neil, this question has been asked before and Shaun answered the question the last time. Having been to many times before myself, I would say take the that you feel most confident in using in this country.

The on virtually every venue in receive far more pressure than the majority of venues in England. With a large proportion of the commercial fisheries in having full or atleast constant bookings for around 30 consecutive weeks a year, then it stands to reason that these are atleast as wary as the we try to back home. Reader’s Query - French style lakes in the UK?

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

On the 30th June Phil Parker put the following question to the bloggers:

OK here goes. Now I’m sure this subject has been touched before. Why do we not have venues in the UK similar to those advertised in (PLUG) Lines. In perhaps I should ask them this and other companies this. There seems to be a venues that do this but not many. I am not knocking or any of the lakes over there as I have fished many of them over the years and love the places I have been to. Its just that there seems to be missing opportunities which I’m sure could be grabbed. I know there are places like and Anglers Paradise, again top notch venues but the chance to share a with friends on an exclusivity basis or a 20 acre shared between a of 10 anglers has surely got to appeal. There must be of anglers who would relish this as syndicate waters are sometimes far and few between and not within budget for many. So come on lets have your thoughts, suggestions and opinions on this.
