The Liver B8 would be a good choice. As you know I caught well on this bait and I have only this morning received a email from someone who has just returned from St Christophe - he had twenty fish up to 52lb 3oz on the Liver B8. Not wanting to confuse the issue but the Special Crab has also produced at least three 50’s from there.

The carp at St Christophe seem to swim around in quite big shoals and were more than happy to drop down onto a fair bed of bait (I used Garlic Feast with the Liver B8 to try and keep them rooting around in the area for longer when they arrived) so as long as the weather is conducive to good feeding the only limits really would be how much bait you could justify taking - within reason of course.

I fished for four days and fished all the rods on the same baited area. I was baiting up around 4-5pm each afternoon (this seemed to be a quiet period when nothing was getting caught).

I juggled the baiting amount about trying to find if they wanted light baiting or quite heavy. The most action I received was after introducing 5kg of boilies over the four rods (1 1/4 kg per rod) and probably around 7kg of Garlic Feast.

You certainly don’t need to introduce this amount of bait to catch
them at St Christophe though. I started the trip baiting much lighter and caught from the off. I experimented with more bait to see what happened.

I only had one take in the dark hours and to be fair from what I saw of fish movement the carp weren’t anywhere near me during late afternoon and night but come around 8am and the rolling and leaping would get closer and closer untill the takes started to come again. I am sure the fish were there as long as it took to eat what I had offered then moved along their way.

The baiting which produced the most fish I think was simply because I held them in the swim that little bit longer and with concentrating all the bait on the one spot rather than baiting several different areas I made the most of it and kept the fish feeding around the rigs for as long as possible.

Hope this helps. I am sure I would have caught fish had I used a fraction of what I did although I doubt I would have had quite so many chances each morning as the carp would have passed me by quicker.
