Of tench and things - Notes from my May Diary

1

Here I sit in my writing cabin with the rain falling just inches away. I don’t know what it is, but the rain always puts me in the mood to get away from my desk and write. So, we are on the last day of May and I won’t be angling again until June, so why not write about another month that has flown by, I guess with all the bank holidays, I was having a lot of fun.

East Delph Lakes

DSC 0380

Well, I found myself unexpectantly fishing a match this last week-end. Now that isn't usually my scene at all but my swim name I liked.

I much prefer swim names than numbers.

My Post Spawning Method's

IMG 20210613 135530

Back in the 90's I found a way of catching some difficult carp which were pre-occupied on fish spawn. To this day I have continued to turn back to it at this time of the year simply because it still works and works well.

SOMETHING TO TRY AT THE WEEK-END? Do you want to fish PVA Mesh Sticks at long range?

Here Carpology TV show a simple way of getting those mesh bags out there much further than normal utilising our Rahja Spice Micro Feed, crushed Rahja Spice boilies, Mini Mixed Pellet and Rahja Hemp, with other particle.

Once again, well worth just over a minute of your time watching this. It is so simple to do.

Post Spawning Edge

IMG 7976

I originally developed this product whilst fishing a difficult pit where the carp would follow the bream shoals around after spawning simply gorging themselves on spawn.

It became very difficult to get a take whilst the fish appeared to be preoccupied on spawn so I set about trying to mimic it but at the same time make it stand out much more than the natural spawn already there. After all you could wait a long while to get a take from a cow on a blade of grass couldn't you?
